JOB SUMMARY
LMI Technologies is looking for an ambitious leader who can provide a reliable and trustworthy IT infrastructure. In this very hands-on role as lead for a small team, you will work closely with fellow stakeholders to determine the IT needs of the company, provide guidance on best practices for implementation, and be actively involved in the deployment of your recommendations. This position requires direct participation in day-to-day operations such as upgrades, migrations, infrastructure changes, and end-user support, as well as general management oversight of organization-wide IT projects including info systems (IS), network, telecom, security, and infrastructure. Successful candidates will need experience working in an IT function as well as at least 5 years in an IT supervisory role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages all IT business systems and IT infrastructure within the organization
- Provides direct leadership to the IT Team by managing performance, coaching, developing and growing the team
- Preparing design proposals for major, complex and longer term technical solutions including determination of costs, time required and alternative approaches to satisfy existing and future needs.
- Leads the completion of large projects by breaking them down into simpler parts, assigning and monitoring work, ensuring adherence to policies, practices, guidelines and standards, and providing advice and guidance to team members.
- Making recommendations for changes to policies, guidelines and standards. Proactively introduce new technology solutions for current business problems
- Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented
- Preserves assets by maintaining and updating existing disaster recovery and backup procedures and information security and control structures
- Evaluation, selection, and management of IT vendors, business partners, and solutions providers
REQUIREMENTS
- This person must have a “hands-on” approach to management, as they will be working directly with end users and locations, filling in for the team whenever required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Management or equivalent; Master’s degree is desirable
- 8 years minimum relevant experience in an IT environment. At least 5 years in an IT manager or supervisory role.
- Good working knowledge of Cisco switch/wireless design and configuration, VM infrastructure design and maintenance (including storage, backup, and system design, based on VMware's product line), Directory maintenance
- Formal training in ITIL standards, and knowledge of how to implement change management procedures
- Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and ability to stay on top of a large number of priorities while under pressure to deliver.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Positive attitude and ability to provide and receive constructive criticism.
